How to migrate from Yoast, Rank Math or AIOSEO

Use the migration wizard to move supported SEO data into TamRank. The wizard shows a plan before it writes anything, keeps the source data intact and creates a rollback point.

Do this

1. Make a normal backup of the website.
2. Install and activate TamRank while the old SEO plugin is still available.
3. Go to TamRank → Settings → Import / Export.
4. Review the detected source, item counts and robots.txt preview. Select the categories you want to import.
5. Start the migration and keep the tab open until the report appears.
6. Check several important pages, redirects and the sitemap.
7. Deactivate the old SEO plugin, clear all caches and inspect the public output.

What can be imported

Depending on the source data, TamRank can import:

• Titles and meta descriptions
• Focus keywords and canonical URLs
• Robots settings and social data
• Supported schema choices
• SEO data for categories and other terms
• robots.txt, sitemap settings and site identity
• Supported redirects from Rank Math and Yoast Premium

AIOSEO redirects are not imported at this time. Review and transfer those separately before disabling AIOSEO.

Existing TamRank values are not overwritten. The report shows imported, skipped and failed items.

Check before deactivating the old plugin

For a few representative pages, check:

• SEO title and meta description
• Canonical URL
• Index or noindex setting
• Schema and social data
• Important redirects
• Sitemap content

After deactivating the old plugin, clear the WordPress, server and CDN caches. Confirm that only TamRank produces the title, canonical, robots and schema output.

Roll back the migration

Go to TamRank → Settings → Import / Export and choose the rollback action.

Rollback restores the TamRank values recorded before the migration and removes redirects created by that migration. The source plugin data is not deleted. Rollback is not a replacement for a full WordPress backup.

If something does not look right

Old output is still visible
Clear every cache and check again in a private browser window.

A value was skipped
TamRank keeps fields that already contain a value. The final report shows why an item was skipped.

robots.txt did not change
A physical robots.txt file takes priority. Review it through your hosting environment.
