What's new in TamRank

The first public release of TamRank PRO, the add-on for the free TamRank SEO plugin. Requires TamRank SEO 1.3.12 or newer, WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.

• PRO Suggest an SEO title and meta description for any page, in your own writing style and brand voice.
• PRO Describe images with AI: one click writes the alt text, using the photo itself or the file name and your page.
• PRO Find link ideas: TamRank reads your page and your other pages, and shows sentences where a link to a related page fits. Pages from the same topic come first.
• PRO Every AI action shows what it costs in credits and how many you have left this month.
• PRO Connect your AI assistant to your site with one URL. You sign in with your TamRank account and choose which of your sites it may reach. No API token or local server is needed.
• PRO Your assistant can read your SEO tasks, signals, pages, diagnostics, change history and Search Console figures.
• PRO It can propose changes to meta titles, meta descriptions, social sharing texts and image alt text. Nothing changes until you have seen the exact preview and approved it.
• PRO Eligible changes your assistant makes can be rolled back from the AI changes screen, without overwriting edits made after it.

• Known issue If the WordPress security keys (salts) in wp-config.php change, for example through a security plugin, changes made earlier by your AI assistant can no longer be rolled back from TamRank and new change plans may be refused. A fix is planned for 1.0.1. If you want to rotate your keys, roll back any AI changes you may want to undo first.
• Known issue Describing images by looking at the photo only works when the image is publicly reachable. On a local or password-protected site, TamRank uses the file name and your page instead.

• New Export the SEO titles, descriptions, keywords, canonical URLs, social fields and robots settings of your posts, pages and terms to CSV, edit them in a spreadsheet and import them back. TamRank shows every change before it writes and keeps a backup so you can roll back.
• New The Content tab in the editor is now a to-do list that starts with the first thing to fix.
• New The dashboard tells you when your site is still behind a coming soon or maintenance page.
• Improved Next to Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress, TamRank steps aside and no longer writes meta tags or schema that the other plugin already writes.

• New One "Report a problem" button on every TamRank screen opens the support form on tamrank.com and sends your site's technical details along, and you can edit them before you send your report.
• New The SEO tab explains your score in one panel and lists the checks that are still open.
• New The Schema tab shows a compact card for software and app pages and only asks a question when it needs your answer.
• Improved The keyword checks for title and description count plurals and reordered words, and name the words that are missing.
• Improved After you delete a page, TamRank suggests a similar page, the parent page or a 410 instead of the homepage. A redirect target you type yourself must be on your own site and must not redirect again.
• Improved The SEO audit skips pages that robots.txt blocks for every crawler, with an off switch under Exclusion settings.
• Improved Structured data from your page content is now built in the background after you save instead of during page loads, skips the content of very large pages, and only uses content a logged-out visitor can see.

• New Your XML sitemap covers every language of a multilingual site, and your homepage title, blog title, fallback description and organisation name can be translated per language in WPML or Polylang.
• Improved TamRank stays quiet about any page type another plugin already puts on the page, breadcrumbs included. The schema panel says what it leaves alone, with a button per type to take it back.
• Improved Every task on the dashboard now opens the page it is about: the editor, the audit filtered on that issue, the row in the 404 monitor or the settings card. The internal-links task now says what it actually counts.
• Improved The dashboard no longer waits up to thirty seconds on Search Console. After five seconds it shows the figures from the last successful fetch.
• Improved Your sitemap is served from cache instead of being rebuilt on every request. Publishing or changing a page still refreshes it right away.
• Improved Registering for an API key now proves the request came from this site, and sends your WordPress and PHP version, languages and environment type, so support sees your setup at once and a staging site is not counted as a live one.
• Improved Redirect suggestions are capped at a hundred new ones a day, also when requests land at the same moment, and re-analysing a page waits half a minute between two fetches of the same page.
• Fixed Migrations: the roll-back deleted a setting you had switched off instead of putting it back, a migration started twice could leave redirects behind, and a .htaccess file TamRank cannot read was treated as missing.
• Fixed The editor no longer accepts a slug another post or page already uses, and says so, naming the page that holds it.
• Fixed Ticking off or adding a task on the dashboard now sticks, switching 404 monitoring off now really stops the logging, and error messages read as text again instead of "[object Object]".
• Fixed Your sitemap no longer lists page-builder templates from Elementor or Royal Elementor Addons as pages, and your image sitemap no longer lists a translated image twice.

• New The robots.txt screen opens with a status card, and it says when the sitemap line no longer matches your site address, with a button that corrects it.
• New Ask Google to crawl a page again from the editor, and from your category and tag screens.
• New Park a page out of the orphan list without taking it out of your audit.
• New The migration plan flags redirects that send visitors to another domain before you import them.
• Improved The dashboard no longer repeats site health per category. The SEO audit covers this page by page.
• Fixed Pages linked only from a navigation menu were reported as orphans, and the Links column showed a 0. Menu links now count.
• Fixed A custom post type showed visitors a breadcrumb trail but handed none to Google.
• Fixed An alt text of nothing but spaces now counts as filled, so the images panel no longer stays stuck above zero.
• Fixed Redirects imported from another SEO plugin now have their own filter and their own label, instead of sitting with the ones you typed yourself.
• Fixed A failed roll-back in the migration wizard now stops and offers you a retry.
• Fixed A page that already carries FAQ markup from another plugin no longer gets a second set from TamRank.
• Fixed A page type carried over from another SEO plugin now reaches your structured data.
• Fixed Dutch, German and French screens no longer fall back to English in places.

• Improved Pages built with a page builder like Avada, Divi or WPBakery load at full speed again, and the content analysis in the editor is quicker too. TamRank no longer fetches your page from your own site.
• Improved FAQ schema is read straight from your Avada FAQ or accordion element, and left alone if your theme or another plugin already puts it on the page.
• New Your pages carry the full set of sharing tags, so a link on Facebook, LinkedIn or WhatsApp shows your title, description and image at the right size.
• Improved Your structured data says more about a page: when it was written and changed, its language, its length and who wrote it. Coming from Yoast, the page type you set there comes across as well.

• Fixed Pages and posts could not be saved or published while TamRank was active, if the address in the TamRank box was already taken by another page.
• Fixed A redirect TamRank filed by itself kept sending visitors away once real content lived at that address again. Redirects you typed in yourself are untouched.

• Improved The migration wizard has been rebuilt. Four steps, one screen each, and you see the full plan and the rollback before anything runs.
• New You can migrate from All in One SEO as well, next to Yoast SEO and Rank Math. If more than one of them is installed, you pick which one to bring across.
• New Your robots.txt and XML sitemap settings come across in the migration too, and you choose whether to keep your own robots rules or replace them.
• New Your brand details come across as well: name, logo, social profiles and share image. What you already filled in in TamRank is never overwritten.
• New A site-wide fallback share image, for pages that do not have one of their own. Empty by default.
• New LocalBusiness schema with your opening hours, address and service area, and a live preview of what you are about to publish.
• New Merchant details in your product schema: shipping, returns and condition. Shipping is read from your WooCommerce shipping zones. Returns and condition are your own settings and start out empty.
• New 451 as a redirect status, next to 410. Redirects with either status come across from Yoast and Rank Math as well.
• New A main switch for the XML sitemap, so the whole sitemap goes on or off in one place.
• Improved Date archives are noindex by default after this update. You can switch that back in Settings, where there is now a switch for author archives as well.
• Fixed Price and availability were missing from the automatic schema markup on your WooCommerce products.
• Fixed Pages with a canonical URL of your own no longer get a second canonical tag, and variables in your social titles and descriptions are filled in again.

• New An HTML sitemap for your visitors, plus a visible breadcrumb trail on your pages, as a block, a widget, a shortcode or a template tag. Both are built from the same data as your XML sitemap, so what a visitor reads matches what search engines read.
• New IndexNow. Publishing or updating a page tells Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam, Amazon and Yep right away instead of waiting for the next crawl. Off until you switch it on.
• New The full set of robots directives per page, post and term. Decide per item whether search engines may keep a cached copy, show a snippet, index its images or translate it, and how large a text, image or video preview may be.
• New Automatic alt text. New uploads take their alt text from a pattern you choose, and you can run that same pattern across the images already in your library. It only fills what is still empty, and a run can be undone. Off by default.
• New RSS feed optimisation. Put a line of text before and after every item in your feed, so sites that republish it link back to the original. Off by default.
• New Regex redirects. One rule can now cover a whole set of old addresses, with the target filling in whatever the pattern captured. Every pattern is checked before it is saved.
• New The migration wizard brings your redirects over from Yoast and Rank Math as well, and the rollback takes them out again if you change your mind.
• Fixed Date archives no longer return a blank page. If a visitor opened one of your day, month or year archives and saw nothing at all, this is the fix. The same fault is present in 1.3.6, so it is worth updating for.
• Fixed The breadcrumb path in your structured data now matches what a visitor can actually reach: drafts, private, trashed, password protected and hidden pages are left out of it, and titles with an & or an apostrophe read the way you wrote them.
• Fixed Saving your settings is dependable again. What you save stays saved, the confirmation appears, and the page stays on the tab you were working in.
• Fixed Content analysis raised a PHP warning on the featured image of an unpublished post.
• Fixed Smaller repairs: your robots choices for a page can no longer be contradicted elsewhere, the category step in the migration wizard works every time, bulk actions ask for confirmation inside TamRank instead of a browser popup, a redirect pattern that could never match is refused with an explanation instead of stored, questions are no longer listed twice in FAQ results, and a dashboard label now reads correctly in Dutch, German and French.
• Improved Step two of the setup wizard has been redesigned, and the Internal links card on your dashboard shows a status instead of a percentage, so pages without a contextual link no longer read as a failing score. The llms.txt file is gone: Google has confirmed it ignores these files and AI crawlers almost never ask for them, so it was doing nothing for you.

• New Initial release on WordPress.org. TamRank is free to install, and it does not just tell you what is wrong. It shows you exactly what to fix.
• New Write with confidence: titles, descriptions and social previews per page, with a focus keyword and live scoring while you type.
